Voters who live in Franklin and Whiteland have one candidate on their ballots to select for county council, however, that candidate moved out of state months ago.

By the time noon rolled around Saturday, more than 1,100 Johnson County residents had already cast their ballots at the county’s five early voting centers.

Purple for Parents of Indiana rescinded their endorsement of a Franklin school board candidate who publicly disagreed with the group’s stance on social emotional learning, or SEL.

Of the 27 school board candidates on ballots in Johnson County, 15 replied to a questionnaire from the League of Women Voters of Johnson County.

With the close of voter registration earlier this month, the statistics heading into Election Day are official. The number of Hoosiers who registered to vote for the first time or who updated their registration prior to the Oct. 11 deadline was over 360,000.

Today is the final day for county clerks to receive an absentee ballot application from an applicant requesting delivery of an absentee ballot by mail.

Several local races are contested in this year’s general election, and candidates are hoping to shore up support in the final days before Nov. 8.

The latest campaign filings filtered in last week, showing which races and candidates are having the most fundraising success as well as which state senators and representatives are struggling to attract voters.

The eight candidates running for three at-large seats on the Center Grove Community School Corporation Board of Trustees will take part in a candidate forum next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Center Grove High School Auditorium.
