State tournament play will look a lot different next fall and winter, thanks to some fairly significant changes to sectional alignments introduced Tuesday by the IHSAA.

During its annual review of bylaws on Monday afternoon, the Indiana High School Athletic Association voted to give full recognition to boys volleyball and girls wrestling beginning with the 2024-25 school year. Both had been classified as “emerging sports” by the IHSAA in 2022.

Local rivalry games get a little extra spice when they come during the postseason, and next month offers the potential for several, thanks to the pairings released by the IHSAA and the IBVCA on Sunday evening.
